Goofy's Sky School, also known as Goofy's Sky Skool, is a wild mouse roller coaster at Disney California Adventure Park. It occupies the former spot of Mulholland Madness, and is in the Paradise Pier area of the park. The ride is based off the short, "Goofy's Glider".

Ride history[]

Mulholland Madness (2001-2010)[]

Goofy's Sky School originally opened as Mulholland Madness on February 8, 2001. The attraction's name came from the famous Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles, California. The ride received low popularity in the first few operating months due to three accidents that closed the ride. The cars were similar to cars seen on highways (Highway Patrol, Woodies, etc). Riders end their ride with an overhang sign saying "Rental Car Return".

Expansion and refurbishment[]

On October 12, 2010, the park closed Mulholland Madness and announced that it would go into retheming into Goofy's Sky School for the expansion. The ride reopened on July 1, 2011, in an attempt to bring more of the classic Disney characters to the park.

Future[]

It has been reported, but not confirmed, that Goofy's Sky School is the future location of a new E-ticket attraction.

Ride synopsis[]

Queue[]

In the queue for the attraction, guests get to see Goofy's certificates and achievements, and a small abandoned chicken farm. On one notable certificate, Goofy crosses out his profession as a chicken farmer and says he'll train chickens to fly planes. Shortly after, guests board their vehicle.

Ride experience[]

After guests go through a last minute safety check, the vehicle ascends at a fast pace up the 55ft lift hill. Suddenly, at the top, the vehicle then swerves to the left, and then another left, and then another left. Then, the vehicle takes a sharp left and almost crashes into a billboard before swerving to the right. Then, it takes a gigantic curve over the queue and into a brake system. The vehicle turns left and heads into the main drop. Riders are then lifted up again before heading into another small drop and then into a brake system. Finally, before the final brake system, the vehicle faces three small valley drops. Before heading into the station, Goofy congratulates the riders for completing the course and passing their flight test.
