Mulholland Madness was a Wild Mouse coaster themed after Mulholland Drive that opened with Disney's California Adventure on February 8, 2001. It was replaced on July 1, 2011 by Goofy's Sky School.

Ride history[]

The ride opened with Disney's California Adventure on February 8, 2001 as Mulholland Madness. Within the first month of operation, three accidents occured, causing the ride to be shut down for a short amount of time to fix the repairs.  The vehicles were themed after cars on the Southern California freeway systems, like Highway Patrol of the classic surfing "Woodies". At the end of the ride and going back to the station, a sign read "Rental Car Return".

On October 12, 2010, the ride closed to begin refurbishment in Goofy's Sky School, themed after the funny short "Goofy's Glider". On July 1, 2011, the ride reopened as Goofy's, the latest in a series of moves to attempt to include classic Disney characters in Paradise Pier.

It is rumored that the location of Goofy's Sky School will be a future home to an E-Ticket ride.

Ride synopsis[]

Riders board a plane and navigate through a crash course of flying, which includes, high-speed turns, super steep drops and sudden stops. Throughout the ride, Goofy can be seen on billboards telling guests a step by step guide through flying.
